The first person to classify animals was Aristotle. He wrote a book to try to keep himself organized. He grouped the types of creatures according to their similarities, animals with blood and animals without blood, animals that live on water and animals that live on land.
This was okay for the time, but what happens as organism start evolving and changing? what about when organism no longer fit into categories they once did? That is why the classification system keeps changing. t as time went on scientists started to observe closer and a man by the name of Carl Linnaeus came up with a better way of classifying. Microsopic organism were adding into the System. Linnaeus's way of doing things was a lot more specoc than Aristotle's general way of classifying. There have been at least 4 systems that scientist have used and soon, there will probably be a fifth.
